Trim hair to about 1/4 inch if necessary, exfoliate 24–48 hours before, avoid heavy moisturizers or tanning on the area, and arrive with clean, dry skin. If on topical retinoids or medications, disclose to your esthetician to prevent irritation or complications.
You may feel brief stinging or pulling, especially on first treatments, but skilled estheticians use techniques to minimize discomfort. Breathing, skin support, and post-wax calming products help. Numbing creams can be applied on request after consultation to reduce sensitivity.
Typically 3–6 weeks depending on hair growth, hormonal factors, and regular waxing frequency. Hair grows back softer and sparser over time. Maintain results with regular appointments every 4–6 weeks and gentle exfoliation between sessions to prevent ingrown hairs.
Waxing is generally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but increased sensitivity and circulation may make it more uncomfortable. Inform your esthetician about pregnancy and any medications; early pregnancy may be more prone to nausea. We recommend gentle technique and extra care for comfort.
Avoid hot baths, saunas, intense workouts, and direct sun for 24–48 hours. Wear breathable, loose clothing and avoid swimming in chlorinated pools immediately. Apply a calming, fragrance-free lotion or aloe, and gently exfoliate after 48–72 hours to reduce ingrown hairs.
Prevent ingrown hairs by regular gentle exfoliation, using non-comedogenic moisturizers, and avoiding tight clothing. If ingrowns occur, use warm compresses and an antibacterial topical; avoid picking. Our estheticians can perform safe extractions and recommend salicylic or glycolic acid products to reduce recurrence.
