Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Stomach Wax (Strip).

Generally 1/4 inch (about 6 mm) of regrowth allows the wax to grip hair properly. If hair is shorter, we may ask you to wait a week; if it's longer, trimming slightly can make waxing easier and less painful.

Strip waxing removes hair from the root, offering weeks of smoothness, but it's not permanent. Repeated waxing over time may weaken follicles and reduce regrowth, yet professional electrolysis or laser are required for permanent hair removal.

Clean skin free of oils, lotions, or heavy creams. Exfoliate gently 48 hours before to remove dead skin cells. Avoid retinoids and sunburn; take a low-dose pain reliever if sensitive, and arrive in comfortable clothing.

Avoid hot baths, saunas, and heavy sweating for 24-48 hours. Apply a calming lotion or aloe, avoid tight clothing that may rub, exfoliate gently after 48 hours to prevent ingrowns, and use SPF if exposed to sun.

Some discomfort is normal, especially on first sessions. Our trained estheticians use quick techniques, skin support, and pre-warm wax to reduce pain. Breathing, timing appointments when relaxed, and regular waxing sessions also decrease sensitivity over time.

Clients with sunburn, open wounds, active skin infections, recent chemical peels or retinoid use, uncontrolled diabetes, or on blood-thinning medications should avoid waxing. Always disclose medications and skin treatments during consultation so we can recommend safe alternatives.
